Going hi tech here

Just received my 30 day event recorder. Nothing at all like a Holter monitor. Smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Fits in a shirt pocket. Runs as a continuous monitor but when you sense a symptom you hit a little blue button on the front and it records an EKG strip of what is going on. You can then call in to a 24/7 center where you download the event, they review it and send a copy to your Cardio's office. All sold state hi tech stuff. Neat huh? Three leads on chest wired to a cell phone sized monitor. Beam me up Scotty! Warp speed when you are ready Spock.

Loop monitor

I had a 30 day loop monitor which was easily hidden. Unfortunately, they stopped 2 weeks into my 30 days and scheduled me for surgery.i found it slightly inconvenient as mine only held 4 event sat a time. When I would call them in, I had to try multiple. Times as I do not have a land line. I used my cell phone to call them in- sometimes it worked, other times I was told to call back or go to a pharmacy or store and ask to borrow their phone. I was glad when they stopped. 2 weeks into it :)

I don't have a land line either

I did a test with my cell phone and the tech said it came thru ok but not as clear as they would like. So I guess I will visit the in laws nearby when if I need to transmit.

Just am FYI: if there landline is through a cellphone carrier such as verizon, ATT it will still go through as a cell phone. I've had so much trouble with mine. But I was getting calls from them requesting to resend again and so on.... Hope you do not have as much trouble!! Best of luck

You know you're wired when...

You can feel your fingers and toes again.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
