Its been a while since I visited. Had my second pacemaker implanted in 09 (Medtronic dual lead). No problems until recently. I began having 5 minute or so runs of VTach. Only around 160 bpm but enough to feel uneasy, including irregular beats and shortness of breath. Went to emergency room yesterday with one that was much longer in duration. Of course by the time I got there and was put on monitors the event was over and I had a nice steady beat and very normal sinus rhythm on the monitor. Cardiologist is putting me on a month long event recorder so we can better analyze what is going on. Also seem to be having some atrial flutter at the same time. My original dx was sick sinus syndrome/brady cardia (40bpm regardless of what I was doing). Now there seems to be something funky going on between both chambers. Doc said a feedback channel may have developed. I would prefer not to have ablation but we will see what the event recorder picks up. I have worn a 24hr Holter monitor 3 times with no results. Hate the anxiety a thumping jumping heart beat provokes, but otherwise I'm doing great. Hope some of the "old timers" I met here are still doing great!
