Pretty funny ...

So I have been having to explain whata pacemaker is to my friends and being 13 it is difficult to come up with something that everyone can understand so I tell them that it is basically a battery for your heart .
Well just recently I got a new PM and my boyfriend came to visit me in the hospital so he says just casually to me as he was sitting in the chair ... So how is your new duracell working ???
I just thought I would share !

That's funny. My 2 yr. old daughter has a pacer also and we always call her our little Energizer Bunny. We also tell her little friends that she has a battery to help her heart work. :)

Sounds like your boyfriend has a good sense of humor and is supportive if he was at the hospital with you. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on dealing with people and your PM. Good job!

Being elderly and another generation or two away from a teen, I can't relate to a thirteen year old having a boy friend. Not to imply that it is wrong, only that I was not socially mature enough to be in that position. I attracted a boy, one year younger that I, during my last year in high school. I went off to university in Los Angeles,
on scholarship; he went to Europe to fight in WWii.
I wanted a degree and a great job more than a husband
so I was happy for him when he married a young woman in Belgium. Eventually at age 26 I did marry, had four children and have two grand daughters.

When I got my pacemaker, my uncle (who had one implanted just months before I did) sent me a huge bouquet... just to welcome me to "The Bionic Branch" of the Family Tree.
