Forgot I'd got a pacemaker!

Hi fellow pacers. I've not been in here for a very long time. Been so busy for the past 12 months I forgot I had a pacemaker and forgot about this wonderful club. In the early days of pacing I really do not know what I would have done without the support, friendship and information I got from this group, and now feel somewhat guilty that I've not logged in for so long. I've had an amazing year, my daughter got married in Malta, about 80 of us went out, had a lovely church wedding followed by a dip in the sea off a yacht and an evening reception in a castle, had the most wonderful time. In May I was 60 and my husband and kids organised a road trip to the States and Canada, they all came as well; we did NY, Onset Beach, Niagra, Ingersoll, Kentucky, Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Nashville; we had the best time and came back exhausted!!! For my birthday I decided to have a big party, had a black tie ball and wore a gorgeous grey and black ball gown. I'm at the gym every morning now followed by a swim in the outdoor pool. My parathyroid tumour seems to be sorted now as well, so life is good. I hope this helps some of you that are just starting out and worried about having a pacemaker. I was absolutely terrified 5 years ago and genuinely forget I have it nowadays. Stay well everyone and have fun!!!!!

Yes, I can forget that I have a pacemaker also, but the problem is I can't forget that I have a problem with the heart (arrythmia, Afib, Tachy, etc.)

So, I end up with remembering that I have a pacemaker.

Way to go

can I add to this I have not been on this site for 12 months or so. Had atrial fibrilation , had two ablations and a pace maker. Now terrific. Just done a 200 km bike ride down the Danube and jsut returned from my normal 65 km ride on a Sunday morning. I swim and walk. My qualtiy of life has improved enormously I never have a problem although I do wake up more at night but can put up with that could just be hormonal or a faster heart rate who knows. Anyway all the best to everyone going through simialr experiences thank God for the medical profession I say.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
