BCBS Changes in coverage

Greetings, fellow chargers. I'm curious to know if any of you old timers have had their insurance change re:how much is charged for routine interrogations? I've had my pm for 15 years. BCBSNC paid for everything. No copays, no deductible. Now I have BCBS Anthem and get charged a deductible and a copay if I do a phone transmission; no copay if I go in to the office. Its probably a sign of the times and I'm grateful into have health ins at all. Just wondering if anyone else has similar increases?

Are you a Charlotte native, or one of the many transplants here? I'm transplanted...
Our insurance changed to Anthem, I have only had my PM for about 6 months, but I've had times when they charged a copay and times when they didn't . Same for
INR blood checks. I have not used the phone in as yet, but if one has to pay for both a deductible and a copay, then I'm off to the office. However, in other medically related issues, I've noticed changes I don't like either. As Cabg Patch said, these insurance companies are taking advantage of us any way they can.
anyway, just wanted to throw my 2 cents into the pot...

It is all about the money and nothing else.

BCBS

I'm in FL and policies vary but we have been on BCBS through 3 of my 4 pm's. My first one cost $1000 out of pocket, this last one was over $10K because our deductible is crazy high. Interrogations used to not cost anything, now they are $35. Every visit to the dr now costs me over $100 since we never meet our deductible, so I'm not complaining about the $35. Much :)

Thanks, everyone!

Thank you so much for your replies. I really appreciate your taking the time to weigh in. It is reassuring (in that I don't have to spend/waste massive amounts of time researching this) to learn of your experiences. I had been told I could do 3 out of 4 PM checks at home and only come in once a year. This is my 2nd pm so still young at heart, excuse the pun. Now I have changed them all to OV as they don't charge a copay for those. Go figure. Yes, lubro, I'm a Charlotte transplant. Had one - and only one, STV one day while shaking out my sheets. (I knew there was a reason to not do laundry - haha). Was told it could happen again anytime, anywhere and hubby freaked out. hardly wanted me to leave in the car to go anywhere.SO......(this is totally random, but my dog just passed the most awful odor, geez, Louise!).:) Anyway, the Grand Poohbah of EP ablations here in Charlotte at the time (1998), Dr. Gallagher, performed the ablation. "There is a 1% chance I will put you in heartblock. Well, you can guess the rest of the story. It is relatively trouble free. One battery change, leads will be 20 years old in 5 years. It's more obvious as it bulges out more due to getting old, but my hubby says I'm still sexy. Thanks again for y'alls input. It's always nice to know I can find simpatico folks here willing to help and share info!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
