Thank You

I have been reading your postings for over a year now and I can not begin to tell you how many times you have come to my rescue. I have had a very long year and a half.

In early December 2006 I had severe back pain in the late evening, but, it went away. I thought it was from laughing to hard! Then the next morning I could not lift my left arm. I went to the Dr. the next day, took an EKG. From there I went for a stress test and was air lifted to a larger hospital. After being "stabelized" I was sent home from a two week hospital stay and put on a heart monitor. In February I was taken to the larger hospital again by ambulance (weather being bad) and a pace maker/ICD was installed. In June I had my first bad spell. Air lifted for the second time. Went back to the hospital stayed 12 days...one lead replaced. On the first night out (thank goodness I had not gone home but, to my 82 year old Mother's home) Had a V-Tac Storm and almost didn't make it the eight minutes to the hospital. This time I spent another 12 days there until they got my medicine straightened out.

I am a high school teacher and believe it of not started work last in July. The school system I work for has been most kind to me and made many allowances... So far I have had no other attacks, but visit one of my three doctors every month and I have blood work drawn the first of each month. I am 100% paced on the bottom and 33% paced on the top of my heart.

I am a 48 year old with no other medical problems...just this with no warning and no family history of any kind. Each step of what I have been through all of you have been there. You have a wonderful support system for many of us who are out here and could not respond to you . I started back to work this week and I do not think I could have with out your help. I will never be able to thank you all enough.

I guess I just wanted to say "thanks" for walking with me.

You poor thing! Least you are bk at work now and getting better.
I think it was lovely of you to thank everyone here and i think i would like to thank everyone too.
I havent met many people with a pacemaker (infact, i dont think i have even met one!) so coming to this site has made things easier as i know everyone here has been through a similar situation.
So thanks everyone for your support and kind words.
