Dizzyness ?

Had PM inserted July 2008. EVERYTHING 100% since then. However, However, last 3 mornings I have woken up slightly dizzy - need to reach for support occasionally.

Self check bp = 118/79 @ 72bpm

All back to normal by midday.
Should I contact PM technician or my GP?
Any ideas/experience anyone?

ADJUSTING

by walkerd - 2008-11-04 07:11:08

THEY HAVE TO WELL SOMETIMES HAVE TO ADJUST SETTING A FEW TIMES AFTER INSERTION, CALL YOUR CARDIOLIGIST OR WHOM EVERY YOU DEAL WITH ON YOUR PM, TELL THEM EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, DIZZENESS, LIGHT HEADED, SHORT NESS OF BREATH, THEY NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING YOU ARE EXPERIENCEING. FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT IT IS NORMAL TO HAVE TO ADJUST PM.
GOOD LUCK

Vertigo or Light Headed

by ElectricFrank - 2008-11-04 11:11:17

Are you dizzy as in disoriented or off balance, or light headed as in feeling like you might pass out.

The first is vertigo and has nothing to do with your heart of pacemaker. It is caused by a disturbance in the inner ear.

Light headed is caused by a drop in blood pressure or missing heart beats. The decrease in blood flow to the brain causes light headedness.

It is important to be clear about it with your doctor. Most of them never try to find out and assume the worst.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
