adventure race report

I completed my first adventure race on Saturday. It was insane and possibly the most physically challenging thing I've ever done - way harder than the 5k! - but a lot of fun. My team finished last, but we DID finish :) It was about 2 miles of running with stations and obstacles along the way, like a baby mudder but without the mud. Not sure if I'll do it again, but it was fun and I'm glad I went.

..............Big Congrats on doing your Adventure Run...............

Get yo ass over here in the UK to do the Totally Awesome ADIDAS 24 Hour Thunder Run...in a few weeks it will be our 6th.....this is the equivalent of a Running Woodstock....2.7,000 runners with a whole day to do Team, Pairs or Solos... off road in mud, rocks...you name it..

In the night time, the forest stage ..through the Zig-Zag Wood,.. is straight out of Harry Potter.

There will be a massive welcome should you visit us...Thunder Run...very do-able, coz its not a race..rather a 'Life Enhancing Experience'.

On the Monday morning , you just don't want to go home..its like you've found your spiritual home...

Are you doing it?? If yes, you better report back and share pictures! Would be so fun to plan ahead and have a paced team for something like that.

You did it!

Another first!

But you gotta try it with the mud. Something tells me you will. :-)

Good for you Tracey, you are an inspiration.

I've looked into where they closest mudders and warrior dashes are and talked with some gym buddies about going together. The electrical part scares me, not sure my very laid back and unflappable cardiologist wouldn't have a cow over that one. Part of this race was swimming across a pond, very yucky!!! I'm thinking about it, we'll see.

In that case...

Skip the mudder.

We know and you know you could do it. There's no point to push your luck.

..............................definitely yes...we book our teams in about a year before because demand is huge.

Look up the website and scroll through the pictures...when you come across a character wearing a massive Native American head dress in orange and white,,,you will have found Tattoo Man !!.

In previous years I have been a Viking and a Pirate...this years theme is The Circus.....so I shall, naturally go as a Clown !!

Tracey,...a Paced Team would be a blast.

......................you know Tracey..I think that your idea is do-able.

If its ok with Blake / Admin, then any PMC member who runs, could post, using the title Exercise and Sports on the LH sidebar, any running/jogging news....

Now there have been those who have commented in the past on this wonderful Forum who have been critical of Postings that are 'off topic'.

As I see it Admin would not have included the LH sidebar that gives everyone the chance to share info beit on the bandspread from Condition and Coping through to Jokes and Off-topic,..had it not be seen to be both appropriate and indeed useful.

So........

Who wants to join the PMC Global Pacer Team.??..surely the most exclusive Running / Jogging Club in the World.

We have had so many more runners since I joined PMC a while back..( my first question was about running and PMs...this is where IAN MC and I met ).

Is Traceys idea so daft...I think not.

We can keep it here or maybe....... I know for cycling some of us use Strava for tracking. I use Garmin have been for years now use strava also. I must admit on garmin or strava I usually just upload data not much social stuff.

Or we could just post here what do you guys think?

You know you're wired when...

You have a dymo-powered bike.
