Cold Sweats & Chest Pain

In February I had endocarditis because my prior pacemaker lead became infected, and in return infected the tricuspid valve of the heart. I had to have open heart surgery to fix the valve, and have the leads removed. I now have a dual chamber rate responsive Medtronic Pacemaker with the leads attached to the outside of the heart. Now, during simple exercise I break out into a profuse cold sweat, and experience sharp chest pain. These symptoms quickly subside upon resting. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this something that is normal to expect, or should I be concerned. It's quite scary. Thanks for any advice!

pocket infection

Hi, I had endocarditis last year from an infected pacemaker pocket, I'm having a third op this week as I keep having infections where the pacemaker was. I have the same symptoms, a small bit of house work and I feel and look like I have run a marathon, I was in hospital with endocarditis for three months. I have been told I have reactive pericarditis and that accounts for the chest pains. February is not so long ago and I think you will still be recovering from the operation and the infection.
If you are having cold sweats you should really get yourself looked at as I'm sure you are know you are high risk for endocarditis again.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
