2013 is in the UK !
by IAN MC - 2013-01-01 06:01:11
We've survived here in the UK .... stunning fireworks display in London , a magical sight seeing Big Ben and the Thames all lit up.
If you go out for a midnight stroll, Frank, be careful. We don't want you falling over that fiscal cliff !
Hope everyone has a great 2013
Ian
Thanks all

Morning broke here and my pacemaker hasn't gone over the cliff. Neither has my Jeep. I haven't checked my fiscal yet. Tachyfiscal or Bradyfiscal? Or maybe I'm dead and the whole thing is just a fantasy. Hmmmm.
At 83 (in June, but us engineers round up after midway) I've seen my shares of "disasters". I remember WW2 as a teenager. I was always a skeptic. When they taught us how to get under our desks in an air raid, I raised my hand and asked what sort of enemy air plane could make it to the center of the US. I lived in Omaha at the time. Now for those of you in the UK it was another matter.
So at my age I don't take life too seriously. There ain't that much left so might as well live it up.
cheers,
frank

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
All spark

Yep all spark. fFreworks in every capital city and parties in the park. It makes me mad the millions of dollars going up in smoke as I think of the starving and the homeless and what all that money or even half of it could have done for those folks. Some party hard (the young) some ponder and some (like me) just quietly see another New Year in.
We had a quiet dinner with friends and our daughter and watched the Edinburgh Tattoo on the television followed by the Albert Hall in London night at the proms. 40,000 folks in Hyde Park although it was filmed in the summer
I guess on the mainlandof Australia where it was hotter the beaches saw plenty of action and celebration..
Wishing you a Good Year in 2013. Sincerely
Blue
