Thank You (from Pookie)

Well I had just over 1/5th of my left kidney removed due to cancer on March 25th. Spent my 51st bday in hospital - March 26th. Twin sister flew in from the United States on April 6th (I live in Canada) and she stayed with me for 2 weeks during my recovery. I miss her already and she only left 2 days ago. I'm doing much better than I ever expected...physically. I see the surgeon next week. I don't think I will have to have radiation or chemo. Still quite sore, but now mobile.

So THANK YOU to all that sent me a "get well" card via Blake. I just received all the cards today. What a lovely surprise. Very much appreciated. They arrived just in time because I am having such a difficult time comprehending Electric Frank's passing. I met Frank via this site and we corresponded almost weekly for the past 6+ years. He was like a 2nd father to me. I will miss him dearly.

Again, THANK YOU to everyone who has posted something, sent me a card, or private messaged me.

Take care,
Pookie

Anyway, take care and God Bless, Paul

Pookie, so sorry about all your troubles. I have not been on here enuff' to enjoy and keep up w/all of my old Friends.

I just signed in this eve, only to be shocked/mortified by ElectricFrank's passing! ~ I am just shocked and have a horrible feeling of losing one of our close Family members. He was a Great 83 year old man who still climbed mountains, camped, travelled and loved life! I went back to the 'Member Gallery' and looked at the last FUN pics Frank had posted and just could not help but smile and know he is in a better place now. Frank was still 'Posting' right up to his passing. A true Gentleman.

Pookie, so glad your news is good on you ~ I am so sorry I am not staying up to date with my Dear PM Friends. This has taught me a real lesson.

Keep us Posted w/your Great Progress ~ LUV U ~

jessie i was shocked literally shocked to say the least. i cant imagine him making a choice like that but i know many do.feeling very alone and lonely to-night in a hotel lobby in london. going for tests to-morrow to determine about my husbands blockages. been that road before. been told no more can be done. so we will see what lovely young wannabee dr to-moorow has to offer in terms of miracles. glad i am in the lobby and dont have wifi now i can cry in peace and silence and out of his earshot. jessie

just wanted to say hi and wish you the best in your recovery... I was touched when you responded to one of my 1st posts here... I mentioned that I was in the 1 % club and described how dr's give you the 1 % speech before surgery... you mentioned that you were also a 1 % er...your words of encouragement were heart felt...so, I'm just chiming in with all the others here and wishing you a swift recovery...take care, and take time to smile :)
