Hi Heidi,

I'm 40 and have lived with a pacemaker since age nine. There are many people around your age who have a device. It seems to be getting more and more common.

Once you get over the "shock" of needing your device, you will be back to normal!

All the best,

Blake

I can relate....

Hello Heidi,

I am 38 y/o and I've had my ICD since Feb '07. I was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy in 1994. My implant was for "precautionary" purposes. Since my implant surgery, the biggest change for me was "confidence'. I felt safe. I really don't feel limited in things I do. However, I am careful when working out with weights.

We all can use support from time to time. It's good to know there is a place to come where others can relate.

:o)

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
