Hey y'all! Hope everyone is well! Boy do I have some things to catch up on...
1) I have left school for now because of my POTS.
I passed out in a biology lab while taking notes and the professor thought I was sleeping! When I didn't respond to my partner's poking, he called an ambulance. When I came around, he and another student put me down on the floor. The EMTs finally arrived, but every time they moved me, my heart rate skyrocketed. I finally got to the hospital (first ambulance ride, woo-hoo!) and had to bail myself out. Needless to say, my symptoms pretty much snowballed after that. Disability services was of absolutely NO help, so I left. My first cardiologist even told me, "POTS isn't real and even if it was, it's not a reason to drop out of school." PSH, WHATEVER! So I'm taking some online classes this semester and am looking into Shepherd University for the fall (it's closer and WAAAYYY cheaper). However, I am still chasing my dream of becoming a pediatric cardiologist!
2) I'm on ANOTHER month long heart monitor (this makes monitor #4 )! UGH!
3) I have a boyfriend!! He has Tetrology of Fallot and a pacemaker! He'll be down here for a week and is flying me out to see him in Minnesota in May!
4) I SERIOUSLY am going to start coming around more often - I promise!! I miss you guys so much.
I'm sure there is more, but I will just have to come back and post!

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

Hi uvagershwin, POTS sucks doesnt it! Hey I just thought I would let you know that it took a while to get me diagnosed as well, however as soon as I had a loop recorder implanted my cardiologist was able to see the significant issues I was having. Since you have had so many event monitors you may ask about having one of these implanted. I am not sure if you know about these but they continually record and then if it senses issues it stores it, as well as you have a little device that you can activate that marks event and records as well.
