Has anybody felt tired even after a week from surgery? Also did anyone have a tightness below the pacemaker? Its hard to explain but I am just curious.

Tired = Normal after surgery

Tired???? Heck, yes!!! Seriously, go easy on yourself for not feeling as great as maybe you think you should feel already. You had a surgery that is going to take some adjustment and taxed your whole body. Even now your body is trying to compensate for your not being able to move your one arm and whatnot. It took me a good 4 weeks to start feeling more up to par. It DOES get better. Just give yourself time and take it one day at a time. Besides...God will give you rest if you lean on Him (Matthew 11:28-30).
Feel better!

The After Feeling

Yep, there is an after feeling. It took me ages to get over the tiredness. I think we all go through a massive psychological shock too. After all, having a pm is a great thing for us but a great adjustment. You will feel better as time goes by. And, I think it took time for me to gain my confidence. Sincere wishes.
take time

Hi I had my pacemaker fitted in May and I was soooooo tired out and I think in shock from it all. I had it fitted as an emergancy for Neurocardiogenic Syncope but in surgery my lung was punctured.
I think it must have been about 6 weeks before I started to feel like 'me' again.
Be gentle with your self and take each day as it comes. Before you know it you'll be back to strength again.

I just received ICD replacement for PM 11-19 was extremely tired for two weeks so bad requested doc move up planned adjustment by 3 weeks which made big difference. And even after original implant took several mos and several adjustments to feel like my old self. Be patient and work with cardio doc you will feel better eventually.

I was out playing tennis, running with my dog, heck I was doing all sorts of things - and wasn't getting tired one bit...
And then I woke up.
Yes, as you have probably gathered by all these responses, tired is normal. Even though yuou can't see it, or even feel it - your body is healing.

Well I am glad that its normal, i hope that the stress in the back of my neck that causes me to get tightness in the head is part of me being tired. I hate it cuz i cant walk long distance without feeling like i am going to faint.
