I enjoy this group a lot. I found you on a Google search for recovery from PM. I was feeling quite depressed and second guessing everything. I had my PM implanted on emergency basis and am 100% dependent on it as I have complete heart block.
I am 7 weeks from surgery and feel as if the pm is moving. I have had more discomfort the last few days but just finished driving from FL to MD (ep said it was okay). Have any of you ever heard of a PM dislodging and moving?

Wandering Pacemaker

I too am pacemaker dependent and just got my 2nd pacemaker around Christmas. They had a hard time locating the old one as it had migrated. In retrospect about 5 years into my first pacemaker I had pain smack dab in the pacemaker area that was like a muscle squeeze. It would go on for a few days or weeks and then subside. Off and on it would come back. I never mentioned it to anyone and just looked for signs of infection. Nothing was visible. Everytime the pains got significant enough for a long period of time I would think I needed to say something, but then the pain would disappear again. I now feel with a fair amount of certainty that the pain was a result of the pacemaker movement. Other than having a pocket revision done at the time of the 2nd implant there seemed to be no further reprocussions, but I won't be ignoring body signals again. There was some pulling on a lead as a result of the migration that fortunately did not cause me any grief. Best to you-Two Cents
