Generator Replacement

I'm 53 and got my 3rd PM this morning. The leads were fine so the Dr only had to replace the generator and glue me back together. I pace 100% of the time and have a resting, non-pacing HR of about 30 BPM. The procedure took about 45 minutes and I was awake for the second 1/2 of it. Kinda cool.

So, I checked in at 7:00, in the OR by 8:30 and home by 10:30. Not bad.

Impressive

But, a resting pulse of 30 ? Seems awfully low . .. ... . "Resting" , is that when you are in bed , asleep ? Does the PM monitor handle this ?

Pacemaker insertion

My mother in law had a pacemaker ( for a heart rate in the 20s) on 2nd November . She was in and out of hospital in a day. There has been no discomfort.
She has moderate dementia and asked after the procedure when were they going to do the operation!

She has been fitted with an MRI safe leads and box.

No complications to date.

Cool?

Very!

Don't have those, but maybe next time! :)

Resting HR

I posted my non-pacing HR so you would know that I'm not PM dependent and didn't have to be paced during the procedure. They do that through your thigh, which would have added a layer of complication to the procedure. My PM is set for a low of 60. Rate response is off since my sinus activity is normal.
