Broken PM

by donr - 2012-10-30 10:10:11

PM: Well, I just put on my wife's collander from under the kitchen cabinet, Got out my old divining bones from my witch doctor's kit, collected a bunch of sheep's entrails from the local butcher & brewed some tea from loose ground leaves.

After building a campfire in the back yard, I began chanting my magic curses learned at Hogwarts in Madam Trewlawney's Divination class & squatted buy the fire, slowly brewing a cuppa strong tea. I spread the sheep's entrails in a shallow pan & stirred them in the approved pattern while trying to hold my nose, unsuccessfully I might add. After ripping off my Redneck Neighbor of his last pint-sized Mason Jar sixpack of moonshine, finished just lasterday & already proven to make good paint remover - of course using my loaded divining bones on an old Army blanket I have - I was ready to perform the most secret ceremony to determine the meaning of this dream you had.

I drank the tea, being very careful to not get any of the ground leaves. Coughed, strangled, choked , spit & hurled all at once (It was far too strong even for Ian or TM to drink). Carefully examined the pattern the dregs left in the bottom of my WW-II steel canteen cup; threw the bones once again on the Army blanket (all the time muttering the most powerful incantation known to an old soldier - "C'mon Bones, baby needs new shoes!")

At this point, unbeknownst to me, a 7 ft Diamondback Rattlesnake slithered up behind me & in the clearest Parsel-Tongue hissed "I have been watching you and observing very closely all your work, which is very high quality, indeed. I have the answer to all your work done here tonight." At this point, it slithered around in front of me & coiled itself up loosely & warmed its magnificent set of a dozen rattles by the still glowing fire.

"Tell me, oh, great rattling serpent, what is the meaning of all this? Do not keep me in suspense!" To which he responded...

"That dream means only that she had a dream, nothing else! Now get inside & let me warm myself by your fire more.

Unlike you and Harry, Don I am unable to hear and understand Parsel- Tongue; however I do understand how to play Quiditch. I wonder if in your dream Pmredhead, whether your pm was hit by someone's broomstick? The magic of it could have been too forceful for your pm!

Parsel-Tongue for Annie

by donr - 2012-10-31 09:10:48

Annie: From what I understand of the legless serpents of the Land of Oz, I'd rush right right out & get one of those universal translators that Mr. Spock used on Star Trek.

You are the only land in the World where there are more venomous species than non - & by luck of the draw, you have a lock on most of the most dangerous of the lot.

We fell into a bucket of horseshoes in the southeastern US - we only have 4 dangerous varieties & they all manage to be immediately recognizable.

I suspect that the Nimbus models of broom would deliver quite a magical jolt to a PM. I was never much good at Quidich - I kept rolling over on the stick & hanging from it upside down. - quite helpless to go after a ball You see, being an engineer, I kept wondering how on earth all my tream-mates managed to sit astride that skinny little stick w/ their center of gravity at least a foot above it. I'd start wondering & Whoops! there I' be - hanging from the bottom again.

Upside down

Don, you have to realise that being upside down on your broomstick is the right way up down here in oz!

pmredhead, I hope you have not minded us having a little joke about your dream. No offense was meant.

Dreams are usually the brain's way of sorting out data collected during the day and it can appear quite muddled. Also a pm is a foreign body inside us, and maybe the brain is still coming to terms with that. I am sure your pm will not break, they are really tough. Don't worry about it.
