pm and leads

Has anyone ever had this happen?
I went to my cardiologist yesterday and he informed me that my pm slipped down and I would have to have an x-ray to see if the lead wires were still as they should be. My previous info had been that I could swim in a month, but I waited five weeks. (Later found out it should have been 6 to 8 weeks). When doing backstroke on two occasions it felt as tho the pm moved (which it did) My concern now is will I have to have the pm surgery again? My pm is only three months old. Have any of you had this happen?....... I sometimes trust the info I receive here more then what I hear at the doctor's office! your pm friend, aldeer

Following a fall I was admitted to hospital. It was found that my leads were ok but the sp told me that it was possible the stitch they put in to hold the pm in place had come loose. In which case he said they could reposition it again which meant surgery. I took the wait and see option. Take the option to find out what is wrong and then you can make up your mind about what step you take. After all, you know your body better than anyone else

Well, aldeer, I can't say that I've had this happen, but I can see where that backstroke may have done you in! I would think you might have to have the surgery again if the leads moved and need to be placed appropriately and if the pm 'slipped' and is uncomfortable and not holding the leads. I'm not sure how your pm was situated, but mine is actually sewn down in its pocket and under the muscle...just a thought if you have to go at it again!
