Trial Studies

HI Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone on here has been in a study for your condition with your Pacemaker/ICD? Here is the web site http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/gui/c/a1b/screen/BrowseAny?recruiting=true&path=%2Fbrowse%2Fby-condition%2Fhier%2FBC14.b&JServSessionIdzone_ct=7gc6qxqwa1

You can find all types of trials going on. I was thinking about doing one thats why I was asking if anyone else has done it.

Thanks and have a Great Day !!!
Gloria

I was in a study for my condition, CHF, prior to getting the PM/ICD. I read everything carefully before agreeing and everything I read sounded safe and non-invasive. (After the fact I learned that I was in the control group.) To make everyone think they could be getting the tested therapy, however, they injected us with Novocain -- not something they mentioned in the study data. I would not have entered the study since I am allergic to some Novocain products.

It took me just short of two years to get over my body's reaction to the Novocain. I don't think I'd consider getting into another trial however 'safe' it sounds.

Thanks for sharing this website with us. I booked marked it for future reference. I have never been in a study, but would if the right one came along.

Trial Studies

Dont' know if mine qualifies as a trial study, but for the first 15 months after my PM was implanted I was in a study which was done by Medtronic, my brand of PM.
I went for readings every 3 months during this time and at the end of the 15 months, Medtronic sent me a check for $300.00. I thought it would be just a small stipend but the $300.00 was nice.

The tests were done in my Cardiologist's office.
