It has been a long time since I was active on this site. I just logged in and feel like I am back home among friends. My 4th pacemaker will be implanted in about a month and a half. The last procedure was over 8 years ago. Is there anyone on here that has gone through this 3 or more times? I can't remember how long your are in the hospital and how long the procedure takes. Can they use the same pocket for several repeat implants?

#5

I'll be scheduling #5 this week. Unless you need a new lead, they can do it outpatient. They should go in the same spot and use the same pocket, but verify with them in advance if it's a new surgeon. Every once in a while you hear of them going in next to the old spot, I have no idea why they would do that but some do.
Is the pocket still comfortable? Mine was getting achy from a build up of scar tissue after #3, so when I got #4 we had a plastic surgeon clean it up and rebuild the pocket. I don't think that's typical, tho.
