Hello Pacemaker Club Members,
We have some exciting news to share with you! After years as a trusted space for cardiac device recipients to find connection, support, and shared experiences, the Pacemaker Club is about to embark on a new chapter. With the generous support of ForHearts Worldwide, our platform is getting a complete upgrade, and we cannot wait for you to experience it.
Why the Change?
ForHearts Worldwide is a global organization committed to providing life-saving cardiovascular devices to underserved communities around the globe. ForHearts Worldwide shares our belief in the power of community for those living with implantable cardiovascular devices. Now, thanks to their stewardship, our community will be stronger than ever. Their dedication to our Pacemaker Club mission and their generous investment will provide our community with enhanced features, improved functionality, and a fresh, modern look.
What Is New?
Here is a sneak peek of what you will see on our new platform launching November 25th:
Fresh, Engaging Platform: The new site design offers a clean, modern look that’s easy to navigate, making it simpler for you to find the topics and discussions that matter most.
Enhanced Features for Better Interaction: Get ready to connect in a whole new way! Our upgraded forum offers exciting features like post reactions, easy sorting options, and a streamlined view that brings the newest comments right to the top—keeping you closer to the conversations that matter most!
Continuous Improvements Throughout the Year: This launch is just the beginning! Our new platform will allow us to add more features and community tools that we will roll out over time.
Conversation Archiving: As part of this update, all current conversations will be archived. You will still be able to access and read past discussions, but you will not be able to engage archived posts in new conversations. We encourage you to wrap them up by November 22nd and repost them on the new forum site on November 25th.
What Does This Mean for You?
On November 25th, simply log in to the new forum website with your existing account credentials. From there, you’ll be guided through a quick onboarding process to help you set up your profile and explore the new features. We are here to assist if you have any questions along the way!
We are so grateful to each of you for being part of the Pacemaker Club community. Your support and involvement have helped build an incredibly supportive space, and we cannot wait to see how our new site will bring us even closer together. Our heartfelt thanks go to ForHearts Worldwide for their commitment to this community, which has made this upgrade possible. Under their stewardship, we are entering a new era of connection and support.
Thank you again for being part of this journey. Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s get ready for an exciting launch on November 25th!
With gratitude,
The Pacemaker Club Team

Adding comments to recent or older posts

Admin thank you for your update. I look forward to the new site and all the improvements. Good luck with the switch over and I hope it goes smoothly for everyone. Just a couple of questions regarding your comment on Conversation Archiving:-
"As part of this update, all current conversations will be archived. You will still be able to access and read past discussions, but you will not be able to engage archived posts in new conversations. We encourage you to wrap them up by November 22nd and repost them on the new forum site on November 25th."
I had hoped that any additional comments placed on new, recent and even older posts, could automatically be bumped to the top of the message board after the relaunch, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Are you able to tell us why this isn't possible? I note that you encourage us all to wrap up current/recent conversations by 22nd November and repost on the new forum site on 25th November. Not quite sure how this will work. Sounds like a lot of potential duplication of posts for a while if we all decide to keep our recent posts running for additional comments after 25th November.
Also, what about private messages? Will these be archived and will we be able to retrieve these after 25th November? Do we need to wrap up private messages too by 22nd November?
Thank you for any guidance?

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.

It is interesting that i was just on the Facebook page for Pacemaker club and found out about the above. Where i posted my comment about the upgrade. I was on the Facebook page for another reason. As i looked at all the different people etc that i follow.
Hope with this new site that Admin does send an email to all the users of Pacemakerclub.com. Since not everyone uses this site all the time, making them aware of this new site.
