New pacemaker in 9 year old

Just wanted to put a little post on, my daughter, 9 years old, has just got her first pacemaker last week. The difference in her is incredible! All my fears since finding out about her heart block when I was 24 weeks pregnant until the moment she was in recovery after her operation have calmed and I just look at my amazing little girl quickly recovering being more funny vibrate and raring to go than ever before. What a magic machine she has inside of her and what a wonderful medical team she has keeping an eye on her. Peace of mind for mum and dad and lots of future to look forward to and make the most of. ❤️

I can only imagine the rollarcoaster ride you all have been on the last nine years, but I'm glad the outcome was everything you hoped for.  May she continue to enjoy great health for decades to come!!

Kids are so resilient. One day when she's a grown woman, she will be posting on here telling folks not to worry-that she's had a pacemaker since she was nine, and has three kids now. Lol

I know you're keeping an eye on her recovery to keep the incision dry and not letting her feel around the site. If she has a sling on her arm, make sure she takes lots of breaks from it and keeps her elbow below the shoulder. 
 

How inspirational hearing that a child went through what we adults go through with trepidation. 
 

Rest easy mom. She no longer has to worry that she will die because her heart is too slow. 💝

So glad to hear she is doing better! Pacers can truly be a miracle for those of us with CCHB.

Having been the kid with CCHB, I can tell you that it never seemed like a big deal to me. Kids don't think things through like adults do. I'm sure my parents were terrified, but it never occurred to me it was a bad thing. My heart just beats differently. I still pretty much feel that way :)

I'm 57 now, still healthy and active. Your daughter has a bright future ahead of her. We are so fortunate to be alive in a time with such amazing technology.
