Wondering if anyone has a motorcycle on here and wears a protective inflatable air vest?
I am thinking of getting one but not certain the electronics and the magnetic button closer/activator would affect my pacemaker.
The electronics are housed at the bottom of the back in the vest. The Dainese smart jacket I am looking at has a magnetic button closer at the top of the frontal zip which would be close to my pacemaker box. It also has an LED status light pretty much on the left chest below the implant site.
I have emailed Boston scientific who could only advise any electronics should ideally be 6" from the unit itself and most items being CE approved should not give out any signals to interfere with my unit. There are warnings on all air vests regarding implantable devices but I think they are covering themselves for any legal issues.
Thanks,
Phil

You won't get any real information out of a manufacturer. They have armies of lawyers making sure nobody says anything that might get them a parking ticket. They'll tell you that your elecric (perhaps even a manual) toothbrush might cause interference. Use with caution.
I certainly woudn't worry about the electronics. The magnet is likely too small to do anything and it's not touchig the skin right on top of your PM.
