home monitoring

I have a Medtronic PM.   They do not do monitoring, at least not for me.   How would I go about signing up with home monitoring with someone.

I would speak to your physician or wherever you go for the interrogation of your device.

Best Regards,

It would help if you filled in your bio as to where you live.  As different  areas to the home monitoring differently.  To give you the right answer.

App

Try downloading the MCL Heart Metronics app. Mine has worked abroad and in the states. Your surgeon should have automatically set you up for quarterly interrogations.  With this app you can see when your next interrogation is scheduled.

Get Medtronic to send you a PM Card. It helps at the airport security. Their usa number is below to get advice. You can google your country number as well if you live outside the states.

it also helps if you are in the Emergency Room and are asked what type of pacemaker you have.

(800) 551-5544 in the usa

+1 (763) 514-4000 If you live outside the USA and call.

Home monitoring

If you weren't given a monitor, I'd guess that your cardiologist doesn't do remote monitoring.  I'd start there, anyway.

When I loaded the Medtronic App, I needed their help to set it up.  They had do something at their end as well.

BTW, I was supposed have had my scheduled transmission last Friday.  The app keeps telling me that I have to send it but then says that it can't because it's doing something else.  I've been playing with it on and off all weekend. I was getting dunning emails but that seems to have stopped.  The transmission doesn't show up in the log.  Don't know what's going on but something's broke.

Bedside monitor

I was given a bedside monitor after my 4-21 pacemaker implant. It was too bulky to travel with and I foolishly I was told to send it back and use the app and when I returned they would send it back. Bad advice. It was easy for me to setup. Unfortunately when I returned I was told Medtronic had a back order for over a year on their monitors. I regret giving it up. That was 8 months ago and it's still on back order. Perhaps that's why RTAPIA wasn't provided a monitor.

my scheduled interrogations had a hiccup because you need to allow the app to be running in the background. Plus my phone has to be within 6 feet away. Every night I get a soft safety check between midnight and 4am. So I have to be near my phone. It works well now. I open the app when I go to sleep and my phone is close by.

you can check the app to see if you see a green check ✅ or if you see a horizontal line continuing running horizontally when it's uploading. Green check means your nightly safety check was completed.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
