After spending 15 days in the hosplital 3 different times, something had to be done. Went A Fib first time on Dec 1st 2019. The tirage nurse says your here cause you cant pee.Well you heart rate is 169bpm. First time for the paddles. Second time was Sep 2020 spent 5 days in hospital. Third time was March 2021. spent another 5 days in hospital. Im sure they called a code blue on me cause when I came to there were about 5 extra people in that little room. Pacemaker was implantded Mar 15th 2021. Never had any pain from the from the first plunge of the scalpel to when the last stitches came out. I must be the exception to the rule. The only time I had for reserch was to find out I could get the implant on the right side, Im left handed and sleep on left side. Also found out that some surgens say putting in right siede is easier then left side. Club has been a big help and I see that everyone has gone thru everything I did. I have no questions but I would urge those interested to view the videos on You Tube put on by Doug Rachac. He worked at Medtronic for 14 years and then had a Medtronic implant. He worked with patients and doctors. Thought he knew everything than found out he didnt. His videos are short, he covers a lot of different pacemaker subjects and are well worth watching.

Thanks so much for this resource recommendation! I watched three of Doug's videos. It was so informative to see the leads and his explanation of how everything fits together. Wish I had watched these my first day home with my device (or sooner!). His video on early recovery is very clear and concise.
Read the comments on the videos to learn even more as people ask questions and Doug responds.
I also love how Doug is openly honest with this statement of his because I too had PTSD and general anxiety after going through the period before I finally got my CRT-P. Doug's words :
"I have been diagnosed with PTSD and general anxiety. The research I have seen shows this is very common among cardiac patients with as much as 50% of patients experiencing symptoms. If anyone suspects they might be experiencing PTSD, anxiety or depression I highly recommend seeking professions help. Speaking with a therapist worked wonders for me."
Here're a couple links to his videos to copy and paste into your browser. There're a lot more:

You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.

When I try to check your history, I get the Whoops, looks like something went wrong message as though you have been having problems logging on and may have deleted one of your attempts. Not to worry I see we are still able to respond to your message.
Douglas Rachac is a member of this Club and a member of several Pacemaker and ICD Facebook support groups too. He is known to me and to other members here. I have always found Douglas' videos helpful and simple to understand. Thank you for sharing.
I see you have a history of AF (atrial fibrillation) and of numerous ER visits. I hope with your pacemaker you are in a better place now.
