Dizziness

I first suffered a heart attack about 2 years ago... About 8 months ago I passed out... I ultimately was diagnosed with a complete heart block... My heart beat was as low as 30 and my blood pressure was very low... I was brought to the hospital and placed in ICU and they readied me for a pacemaker, within a couple of hours I was in the ER getting a pace maker... It's been several months now, but I still get light headed, the dizziness. It is not as bad and I don't feel like I will pass out? But I still have light headedness and dizziness, I also still experience the shortness in breath... I do get pain in my left arm that I ever use to.... and at night my left arm feels sore.... I know they send the pacemaker leads down an artery from your your arm that goes down to the heart? Anyone else experiencing simular sensations or problems?

Your problems may not be serious at all, but I think that it would be wise to contact your doc's office and explain what is going-on. If you cannot, then the ER may be a good choice just to get checked-out. As I said, it may be nothing, but it is not normal to be dizzy and/or have pain in your left arm. No, the leads do not go down your arm. They are generally wound loosely around the PM on your left side (upper left chest area) and directed through a vein down to your heart. There are no leads near your arm.

I wish you well,

Dave

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.
