Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Make sure you spoil that special partner in your life, won’t you. We are very lucky to have found someone to share our lives with, something we may all strive for but not easily achieve.
And for those less successful in finding the right partner or who prefer to enjoy living alone and there are many of us who happily do, make sure you pamper yourself too today. You are very special too.

Grazie! Have a lovely Valentine’s Day everyone (alone or with a partner)
I have just had my first COVID vaccine this afternoon and I feel all right so far.

New to Pace, well said. The pacemaker is our friend and partner. My husband has a pacemaker too and we are both grateful for the support it provides.
Flo, thank you, and thank you for your excellent posts and contributions too. I see you also have SSS and tachy brady, same here.
Aberdeen, good to hear you have had your COVID vaccine. Which one did you receive? I had the Pfizer, hubby the Oxford AstraZeneca.

Happy valentines day, all. Hope it's been a good one, given the circumstances. We've been married four months short of 50 years (June). That's about 3/4s of our lives.
We had the second covid shot a week ago. I still have a little pain in my shoulder but only to the touch. She still has quite a painful knot and it itches like crazy. The side effects were less for me after the second shot and quite a bit more for her. It's not unusual for her to have bad reactions to vaccines. Botttom line: It could have been a lot worse and we're good to go.
Fifty years of marriage

50 years of marriage is a wonderful achievement Agent X86. I hope all the Covid restrictions will be lifted by June and you will be free to plan a special celebration? It needs to be acknowledged, wouldn’t you say? We have been married for 43 years although “together” for considerably longer! It hasn’t always been a bed of roses as we struggled to buy our first home in the early years but the reward of staying “together” has been clear for all to see.
Thank you djg2020. We still have a few years to go to catch Agent X86 up wouldn't you say ?
Valentine’s Day and vaccine!

Gemita, I had the Astra Zeneca vaccine.
I am feeling well today. It was efficiently carried out at an entertainment venue. The last time I was there was at a concert. Changed days!

Other than masks in stores that require them, we have no restrictions here. We really haven't since June. Restaurants were limited to 50% occupancy for a month or so, then 100%. We've had a couple of spikes but if you're not careful the cure can be worse than the disease.
I'm mostly working from home (in the office today) because my employer is, rightly, being conservative. Almost everyone can work remotely so it works. I need to use lab equipment so need to be in my office at times.
Our son and his family (and outlaws) will be at Disney World the week of our anniversary so we're planning to go down there.
Disney World sounds perfect AgentX86

We were in Disney Land, Orlando in the early 80s. We were kids again and had a wonderful time. I almost lost Michael when he followed Snow White into the crowds but then I was never able to control him!! We couldn't stop eating the ice creams, the best we have ever had. The daily Disney parades were so colourful and we never stopped taking pics. Incredible experience - much nicer than Euro Disney in Paris we thought, where we went a few years ago.
We are still in complete lockdown over here. I haven't seen many family members for over a year. We feel imprisoned in many ways but I guess it will come to an end soon as soon as we are fully protected with the second vaccine. As you may know, here in the UK, we are not getting our second follow up jab say within the 3 week period (we have to wait up to 12 weeks) so that more can receive their first jab to maximize the number of people vaccinated. Only time will tell if this policy is good for the Pfizer vaccine but Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine appears to benefit from a longer period between 1st and 2nd jab. My second Pfizer jab is due on 9 April
Lock downs

Disneyland is in California. DIsney World is in Florida, about a 7-hour drive from here. You really have to have young children to appreciate such places. We took our son out of school for a week to go to DW when he was nine.
Some states are still locked down. Georgia and Florida didn't go that way. Florida did a really good job of protecting those at the highest risk without crashing the economy of the entire state. Of course it's a bad situation but it doesn't have to be made worse.
Thank you for the correction AgentX86

We were definitely in Disney World and aren't we all kids at heart ? We wouldn't have the energy today to enjoy all the attractions, crowds and queues but it was fun then.
Yes Disney World is the place for children but perhaps not when they are still in need of some babycare ... and frequent changes!
No doubt your golden experience will be a very happy, relaxing one in the sunshine and warmth of Florida
