Hi. I just had my PM surgery on Monday. One of my leads dislodged and He had to go back in and redo it the next day. I'm so glad that i found this site especially since this is all new to me. I was having issues of fainting and then one eay my heart rate dropped into the 40's and wouldn't rise but very little ( unless i did something strenuous like vacuuming). I went to the ER and they ended up sending me home. But the next day i received a call from the ER Dr on Duty and the Cardiologist that was there that say wanting me back in and he was going to admit me. It was then back in the ER that i learned i was possibly going to have a pacemaker put in. I'm hoping and praying that what they saw on my ekg was the whole reason i was passing out.
But I'm so glad to find that I'm not alone in this. That there is others with similar stories.

Your story sounds almost exactly like mine. I had 2 near fainting episodes months apart and then a sudden onset of fatigue and breathlessness. Lucky for me, I had a regular appointment with my internist scheduled. When I told him what was going on, he immediately ordered an EKG. I was at my cardiologist the next day and had a Medtronic Azure XT DR MRI implanted before the day was out. My lowest heart rate was 41 bpm which scared me ! I am feeling great and adjusting to the idea of a pacemaker.
I see from your history that we have the same “ model.” I am enjoying the activity level which shows on the app. And I’m currently trying to keep my activity level increasing !!
Best wishes to you !

I forgot to add that I also have been diagnosed with 2 nd and 3rd degree Heart Block, and sometimes called complete heart block. My PM is dual chamber DDD.
Also I neglected to mention that this site is an invaluable resource ! Lots of experienced, knowledable people who are willing to share their expertise with you ! Glad you found it.
Me too.

Welcome to the club.
I also have Type 2 AV block which was diagnosed after I collapsed in the supermarket car park. They fitted the pacemaker the next day. This all happened 14 months ago and it has changed my life. I can live a normal life and am now able to everything that was causing me to be out of breath or light headed. I haven't fainted again either.
I'm sure you'll find that your pacemaker gives you a new lease of life.
Best wishes,
Graham.

Hi NHAMBLIN, welcome to the group (one no one wants to belong).
Yeah, there are about a half million such stories in the US alone. Do you have more information on the reasons you got a pacemaker. Did you have pauses or, since it was found by an EKG, a heart block?
