Okay, I see that the Pacemaker Club has a privacy policy that says they will not share our emails with anybody.
HOWEVER
That doesn't mean they won't send out information (even from a law firm) blindly to all its members.
Yes, one could argue the merits of suing a company that is making devices that may have extended my life by umpteen years.
Nobody told me that my PM or leads were fool-proof. Nobody said they came with a guarantee.
Would I sue if I found they were defective? NO! Just like I wouldn't sue the maker of my car, or fridge, or washer, or TV.
HOWEVER - I must say that getting the email from the lawyer made me go and check my part numbers... juuuust to be sure I didn't have the defective lead. If it turned out I did, I would simply go and see what my options were.
SO... I personally don't have a problem getting this kind of info via the PM Club.
Selling or giving out our email info is one thing, but forwarding information (even if it's from an ambulance chasing law firm) is okay by me. I'd rather know what's going on out there.
I do wonder if ANYBODY in that law firm ever had their life saved by a Pacemaker.

what about the new bills
by huskersnb2 - 2007-11-20 09:11:16
hello just responding to your in put i have the bad wire but all i can say about the issues is my pm went off 8 times with in one minute has never went off before it scared the h##l out of me since i ve never had any issues before my wife called the police and the ambulance showed up it cost $1000.00 for the service(more bills) of the ambulance and the emergency room visit was around 3 hours they done test on my heart then i went home (more bills)
the next day i was at the same hospital to see a heart doctor who was going to be there just as i was to see him my pm went off 3 more times doctor put a magnet on it he said right then i had a broken wire more test (more bills) another ambulance ride around 60 miles to lincoln ne (more bills) addmitted more test (more bills) another appointment to doc to determine what to do (more bills)
and now i have to decide what and when to get it fixed replaced or removed another hospital bill so how much would this all cost me and my insurance company (just more money BILLS) just becuase a wire was bad or damaged and they knew about this since the first of the year this could have been prevented this broken wire could have taken my life by not working right so i guess every one is or can do as they want so should i just forget about all of this and just pay more bill or since you not worried will you help me pay some of my new bill
I think i already have enough of bills

You really wouldn't sue?

I just have to comment on the not wanting to sue part... well, I guess that you are one of the lucky people who have yet to be the recipiant of a faulty pacemaker, wire, or battery. I myself had one of the defective delpeteing batteries with regard to medtronic marquis model.... my defib went off a total of 17 times IN A ROW!!!! There were uncovered costs incurred due to the faulty device as well as pain and suffering. I could see if there was just cause in the therapy but nope..... all due to it being defective... and that is srtraight from the manafacturer..... so with that in mind I admire your position withe regard to this but when it directly affect you and your family.... stand up for what is yours!
P.S. If my car was defective and would be considered a "Lemon" damn right I'd sue over that too.......

i agree with the comment that the company has to own up to the problem, fix it and compensate the patient whose physician had confidence in their biomedical equipment. lawyers SAY they want to help but we all know what their bottom line is and when you have a problem run to the doctor--- not a lawyer. in fact, run away from the lawyer....FAST. and by the way, when you are having trouble with your newly replaced PM or ICD, DON"T call a lawyer either. Your MD or company teck will make themselves available 24/7. what lawyer is available 24/&???
violin (a physician)
24/7?

I sure as the devil can't get a response from MY doc 24/7. - nor can I get one from the medtronics rep 24/7 either . He just shows up to minimize the problem and tell me that setting my pacemaker to make me chime when the damned thing screws up is...... his idea of a solution? - not that I am a fan of lawyers - because I'm not. I just think the doctors are equally money-grubbing. - I also think until you are living day in and day out with the knowledge that you have a faulty part - while the doc has an unfaulty profit - you cannot know either how stressful it is - or how you would respond to that stress. -
PD
You know you're wired when...
You can proudly say youre energy efficient.
