Hi everyone. I'm new at this. Had pm placed 6 mo ago. I love the beach. Does anyone know of ill effects from the sun? I was told that it could be very sensitive. Just don't know about the heat. Thanks.

Echoing Janessaa, it's important to keep the scar out of the sun, or at least slathered in good sunscreen, for the first year. I was careless last time and got burned, 4 years later that's my most prominent scar. The others have all but disappeared.

although the beach and sun will be no different with a pacemaker like swangirl said, during the first year of your scar healing, exposure to the sun may permantely darken your scar (making it more noticeable) but if that's not a problem for you, then no worries and have fun at the beach!
