feeling weird

I've been having like 1 second sharp pains in my chest every so often. It just comes and goes really fast, doesn't hurt, almost feels like someone is pricking me with a needle. But I'm all dizzy and out of body feeling right now. I wonder if my ICD is screwing up. I know the pacer part of it does nothing so I wouldn't think it would be that. Hmmmm, I wonder if it's from the punch I got over the weekend. Anyone get feelings like this? I guess it could be totally unrelated to the ICD and I'm once again being paranoid.

Kyle,

Call your doctor about the punch and let him know you are feeling weird now. It can't hurt to call.

Hi,
I agree, it can't hurt to call. In the past I have had a sharp pain now and again(later a nurse told me that in general if the pain is sharp it's not as likely to be something than if it's throbbing and prolonged. Afterwards I'd get lightheaded and panicky. Once I was assured by the doctor that it wasn't my pm, then I got treatment for panic disorder. After my pm i got very vigilant about body monitoring and feeling every twitch and pain.
Call the doc, make sure it isn't the heart. In the meantime, try and relax.

Thanks for the comments. I'm feeling fine today (knock on wood). It must have just been something unrelated, but it was weird for a while there. I think I get overly sensitive to any pains around my chest and when I also felt dizzy along with that I think I might have panicked a bit too much. Hopefully the two episodes happening together was just a coincidence!

Overly Sensitve

Kyle,

I think we are all overly sensitive from time to time. Any time I feel sick or strange I think first of my PM and heart. It is a place we know we are vulnerable. Glad you are feeling better today!

I would call the doc and tell them about the punch adn at least get a chest x-ray. who knows you could have done something even small to the wire.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
