Hi Everyone have pm for 14 weeks last check up I've been put on beta blockers for week now but feel very nauseous. Only small dose 30mg daily dr says it's normal and should calm down. Making me feel anxious as well. Anyone else had this problem and if so how long did it last. Thank you

Beta Blockers

Which beta blocker? As a class, they shouldn't cause anxiety, rather the opposite. It's common for shooters to take beta blockers (metoprolol, in particular) to calm them down and reduce nervous shakes (hence illegal for most competitive shooting).

It may well be worth persevering with the nausea, as it may simply be a case of the body getting used to the drug, but remember that there are quite a few different beta blockers and if symptoms persist why not ask your doctor if you can try a different one? I started with Metoprolol, but found it caused me difficulties and have been on Nebivolol without issue for last 5 years.

I took 1/2 tab in morning and 1/2 in the afternoon to make a more even distribution. As for being anxious, it is an anti adrellaine, so should not cause anxiety. Takes 1-2 weeks to settle in. Good luck.
