Travelling with Pacer

Hi I am living in Australia and I have been paced for 42 years.
My husband and I are finally taking the honeymoon we never
had and we booked a cruise to the South Pacific.
The cruise will last 11 nights.
I am having trouble getting travel insurance as they feel a pacemaker is a high risk. I had to fill out all these papers and get my cardio to fill them in also. Still don't know how I will go.
Has anyone had this trouble especiallty travelling from
Australia. Denise

i was able to get insurance for florida after 6 months with a pacer. they didn't make me fill out anything. i don't think it is an issue if you don't have any other problems with it. i hope someone will answer you like kay and know about insurance in australia. we are in canada and this is how it works. take care jessie

Insurance

I dont bother with insurance. I travel around the world. Im more worried abouth the plane than my pacemaker. Think of the odds you are highly unlikely to have a problem relaxing on a cruise. Best wishes Peter

funny isn't it that my husband feels the same way. he doesn't want to pay the big rates. it is totally up to you tho. jessie

Thanks so much for answering my messages Everyone...
My cardio sent me back the forms today all filled in
and stating I have no problems travelling... Wish me luck
with the insurance guys..
My hubby saids...bugar the insurance we will travel on
normal insurance and take the gamble...
Peter you are right....I would be more worried about being on a plane these days than my pacer going flat...

Take Care Everyone.

They insured me but not for heart related

I read somewhere else that I should try 1 Cover. I did that, I filled a special form, part of which was from my doctor saying I was OK to travel. However, they are prepared to offer insurance for anything else but they will not cover me in the event of a heart related episode. I had my pacemaker installed in December 2012.
