I'm 1 year post dual chamber pacemaker. This week my blood pressure became very low 99/54. Called family doc since an hmo and asked what to do. She says stop my telimisartan no med. Have no symptoms. Seeing doc next week for physical and keeping journal of readings. Also had sinus infection and given steroid injection. Other than this, there have been no problems. I'm going to have her refer me to my EP to check my pacemaker out. Anyone out there have this happen with low BP.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
Low blood pressure

Hello Angkbee58,
While a pacemaker can prevent our heart rates from falling below the set minimum, they cannot prevent blood pressure from falling.
I have suffered from low blood pressure all my life even without blood pressure medication to control my fast heart rates during arrhythmias. This is one of the reasons I have a pacemaker. I have to take a beta blocker to prevent my heart rate from going too high during periods of tachycardia but this used to bring both my blood pressure and heart rate down too much. Now at least the pacemaker keeps my heart rate at 70 bpm and I can safely take my beta blocker.
My blood pressure can fall to around 89/47 and unfortunately a pacemaker cannot push it up. My pacemaker though set at 70 bpm helps me to feel better and less "cold", but I need layers of warm clothing. I drink lots of water which helps and sometimes have to take extra salt with my food.
Hopefully you will feel better without your BP medication
