“High placement”

Concerning my earlier message and responses thus far: 

  My lead wasn't placed in the HIS Bundle; yet it was placed "high" as I was told. I am concerned about the possibility of LV remodeling, not worried, not anxious, just logically interested at this point. Does anyone have any opinions regarding this placement? Can it be changed? I do not know what that would even involve. I agree that as long as my heart echos are good, no problem. However, if my EF goes from 65 to 50 I am not going to wait until it hits 35 to make a change. How challenging is it to change lead placements? People indicate that LV remodeling with my type of Pacemaker is unlikely, based on what data? Anyone?

I talked to my cardiologist about the same thing. His answer was " don't poke a skunk". He say if you do not exhibit symptoms, they won't do it and furthmore the insurance won't pay for it. EJ must be less the 40 before they will even consider it. He did agree to an echocardiogram, which turned out to show nothing wrong, EJ same as originally was 4 years earlier. However I am still concerned!

You're exactly on point.  It's nothing to worry about until it is.  You have a finite probablity of being run over by a bus, too, but it doesn't run your life.  Your insurance company doesn't pay to fix your car before an accident, either.  An echo once a year isn't unreasonable, though not just for PIC.

I think it's important for us to be proactive in our health and our health management. If you RV pace greater than 40% there is a risk of LV remodeling. Like other said. Low risk. I paced 30-60% my first year of PM and my EF went from 62-68%. I only have one V lead. They still aren't 100% sure if HIS bundle reduces the risk that much. The least favorite site is the apex. The septum and HIS bundle are good options but not enough data yet to say HIS bundle is better than septal placement. I use to worry but after much research and taking with my doctor I feel better about the risk being really low
