Traveling without PM monitor...

I have had my PM for almost 8 months now and haven't had any complications whatsoever.  My checkups have been great.  I am soon going on a little get away visiting family.  It will be a 3 night stay.  I know that I could take my bedside monitor with me but 1) I would rather not deal with it, and 2) I doubt that it will pick up the satelites where I am going.  No wifi and very poor cell reception.

Do any of you see any big issues with me leaving my moniotring device home for a few days?

I was told only to take mine if I was going to be gone a month or more.

Live your life

Based on the information I do not think 3 day stay would be a problem. But in any case please ask your doctor

but also keep in mind that, we all hopefully have years ahead of us. Do not overthink. Try to do your best, get your doctors advice, and live your life. We can not control every little aspect of our life

enjoy your getaway with you family

have a great time

good luck

Thank you all for the comments.  I will go enjoy my get away and leave the machine at home.  I know I will be OK.  As far as the phone goes I needed at least a Samsung S7 for the app and I have a S6.  Maybe when I upgrade phones in the future I will get the app.  The machine I have by my bed had never failed me that I know of with the exception of one time lighting up in the middle of the night and tranmitting for no reason.  All I had to do was reset it at that time.

Smart Phone APP Monitor

Besides having compatible smart phones it also depends on the pacemaker manufacturer  as to whether an pacemaker App is available and will work with it. There is an App available for Medtronic pacemakers, but as far as I can see, there is no App for a St. Jude pacemaker. My sister has a Medtronic pacemaker and uses the Medtronic App on her phone as a monitor. She loves it, and I wish I had an App available for my St. Jude pacer, but there is nothing available. I have a wireless monitor (Merlin @Home, LOL), with a cell adaptor that sits on my nightstand and far as I know, I have good cell phone reception and have had no problems with it so far. But that App sure would be convenient. The monitor I have is big enough I'd probably leave it home unless I were to be gone for an extended period of time.

8 days or 8 years

If you were on 8 years with this device....well I wouldnt take it either, but some might.  32 years with pacemakers, on device number five, have no monitor at home and no worries whatsoever.  This is one of the many anxiety items with a new pacemaker that you need to work on.   I cant see a reason why you would need to take it.   Do you take it with you to the store?  to work?  you are already living your life without constant monitoring.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
