Bruising and swelling over site

I had my pm placed in February of this year and all has been going well.  I noticed today that I have bruising and significant swelling over the insertion site.  I have not done any lifting or any activity which would explain this.  I do not have a fever but it is very tender.  Is this cause for concern?

Hopefully it's nothing, but I would absolutely have it checked out asap and insist on cultures. Don't let them hand you antibiotics and wait to see if it works, that seems to be common. You need cultures so that if it is infected, you are on the right meds as quickly as possible. Good luck.
