PM site pain/uncomfortableness

Hi just wondering how long it takes to get used to the Pacemaker under your skin?  I got mine 8/22/19 and still feel like a burning, soar sensation.  Also how long before I can lay on my stomach comfortably?  Can anyone relate?

It can take 6 months up to a year to fully heal. It was 3-4 months before I was sleeping on my side again.

Thank you for asking about this! I too have a burning sensation. It feels like my shoulder is sunburnt. I am having trouble sleeping every night because I’m a side or stomach sleeper.  I cannot wait to be able to sleep how I normally do!

Perfectly normal

I never had any severe pain but mine was sensitive to the touch for about nine months. Yes, it felt just like a sunburn, particularly when anything touched it. A shirt was fine but anything heavier bothered it. After the nine months, it felt like a switch just turned it off.

I'm also a stomach sleeper. I slept in a recliner for two months after. It took five months after my CABG to get back into bed, so it wasn't a big deal.

Pacemaker site still painful.

Thank you for the feedback.  My pm was placed 9-23-19 and all appears to be swell.  However, it is still so very tender and  tight.  I am relieved to know I am not alone and can expect a few more months of healing.  The whole experience has been very stressful and I truly appreciate this forum of information.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
