I have had my PM for 6 months, and recently I have noticed a dull small pain that last for a few seconds in the heart? It is random and mild pain, but enough to make me curious. It is about a 3/10 pain level. Is this normal?

I had a pacemaker since 2002 and ever since then my life has been a total blessing.

After you've gotten the pacemaker you are usually more aware of all sorts of little aches and pains that probably wouldn't have bothered you before you got the pacemaker. Consequently with the brain going at a higher level of awareness, you'll be more sensitive.
I had a lot of trauma prior to getting my pacemaker so my aches and pains went on for two years - far beyond what most people experience when they just have only a pacemaker implant. And yes, I did have pains that did feel they came from the heart area. If your pains only last for a short time - less that one to two minutes, it's probably nothing of real consequence. However if they do go on for a longer time, then yes, it's something to be looked into.
Having said that, you can always call your cardiologist's/EP's office and see if they feel it's anything of consequence. Maybe, maybe not, but you can always ask.
I've heard from quite a few people about the area below the clavicle (collar bone) where they insert the leads going into the heart. It's a very sensitive area and can cause all sorts of sensations and pains in the most unlikely of places. For me, that sensitivity lasted for about four years but, like I said, I had a lot of trauma before I got the pacemaker. I'm still working with a licensed massage therapist and after six years she's finally worked on all the sore spots and I'm back to something you can almost call "normal".
Hoping everything else is going well for you.
