Icd lead rubbing against the clavicle

Hello everyone,

I have had this icd/pacemaker for 2 years, ever since implant I could always feel the leads but over the course of a week I have started to feel like the lead is rubbing against the collarbone. I have a device clinic coming up in a week, has anyone had this? Should I call them now or should I wait? Best, Paula

Device Clinic?

I'm not sure what the device clinic can do about it, other than report it to your EP/crdiologist.  I'd call them directly, and perhaps speak to your doctor's nurse.  At least, that's where I'd start.  If it is the lead rubng on something, they'll probably need to do an Xray to figure out what's going on, so they may want that before even seeing you.

Hi, I had to have a suture clipped. Something about how they used to secure the PM vs how they secure it now. I would call the doc. Mine told me if it broke through the skin I would be automatically on IV antiviotics for 6 weeks, have to have the PM lasered out and a new one put in on the other side. Yikes. Hope this isn't the same issue for you. Beth

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
