my 91-year-old father had a pacemaker implanted 2 years ago. He has had five episodes where he is sleeping and all of a sudden he is woken up because he says he feels like a mini explosion in his torso. We've had the pacemaker checked and the specialist sees no irregular activity .
Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
Not all activity is logged....

Not every device logs all activity. I've gone through many occasions where I noted dates and times I was sure the device did something, then, when I review with my EP or look at the reports there is nothing indicated. Apparently, depending on device and manufacturer, they can set minimum levels to start recording. You might ask that they change those settings to record more events. Good luck!
