I am 100% paced because I have CRT with a his bundle lead.I will need colooscopy this year.( I never really was in heart failure)The procedure itself should be no big deal unless some form of electrosurgery is needed to remove polyp(s). Has anyone with a PM had a polyp removal. The consensus statement from theHeart Rhythm society and the Anesthsiologist organization makes it very complicategd with talk of using amgnet or having it handy and/or getting the device into an asynchronous mode. Any one's experience would be greatly apprciated.

Hi
Had a colonoscopy in February they found a polyp but didn't remove at time because I need the ICD switching off so going back march 15th. Nurse says they do it all the time ,no big deal.worse bit is the bowel prep yuck.

Glad it went well. Did the GI doc want a EP doc consult to give clearance.Did Gi or EP doc want to have a PM tech in the room? Did you get propafol by anesthesia?

Hi I found they were mildly interested in having their first pacemaker patient for a colonoscopy and I had no anesthesia and was relived to later hear there was no cancer found X I found the procedure uncomfortable but bareable X

They gave me propofol. There was no EP and no consultation with my cardiologist. I had a triple hernia repair in September with no EP or cardiologist. My GP laughs and says they don't have to watch my heart. To be honest, I feel safer going under with the pacemaker for that reason.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
I just did

Last Monday I had a colonoscopy and had a couple of polyps removed.
No problems that I know of. I'm paced for a 3rd degree block.
