Hello.  I'm a new member who received my pacemaker unexpectedly 6 days ago.  I have sutures that I know I can't get wet.  I don't see the specialist  until the 28th.  Have been taking sponge baths but not sure how to wash my hair.  Any suggestions?

Temporary waterproof dressing

I applied a showerproof dressing (http://www.smith-nephew.com/key-products/advanced-wound-management/allevyn/allevyn-gentle-border/) -- I happened to have them to hand anyway because of other recurring problems and the nurses at the device clinic told me it would be fine for short periods.

All wet

Perhaps you have something going on that your doctors  are particularly concerned about so I would ask before doing other than what I was told. However,  I was told not to shower for 48 hours and then keep from getting the spray directly on it for a month. Dry by patting, rather than rubbing. No bathing for six weeks. I'm now at 52 weeks and still no baths. ;-)

Thank you

Thank you both so very much.  I pray you are both doing well.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
