Whilst on Holiday recently i had the misfortune of getting badly sunburnt including my PM scar...
Its now very red and has clear fluid coming out of it...
Question... am i at risk of infection of my PM pocket? mine is implanted under the muscle as i am very thin.
Should i keep it covered with a dressing or let it dry out?

Thanks LondonAndy, you comments much appreciated.
Seems to be looking a lot better today less red an scabbed over, will do as u suggest with the After Sun lotion.
Andtry to remember to reaaply sunscreen on a regular basis in future!
Calling in at GP later today for another matter so can double check all on track.
Thanks again 😊

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

From your profile it looks as if you have had your device since 2017, so over a year. I was told not to sunbathe for the first year, so as you are over that period of time I presume the risk of infection is lower, so don't worry quite so much. It is more likely to be cosmetic and only slightly more at risk of damage than the rest of your skin, though i am not an expert. My instinct would be to apply aftersun cream several times a day, and to cover it to protect from the sun, but loosely so that the skin can breathe.
