Day 4 post op, 2nd device

Still feeling really sore and swollen.  I've been huggin' ice packs like a long lost friend.  Extra strength Tylenol is doing nothing so I figured I would give my liver a break and stop taking it as of yesterday.

My new device is a Boston Scientific "Momentum" CRT-D.  I was told there are new bells and whistles after 10 years.  I thought it would be smaller but my EP said it is larger...with all the new technology.  So he had to make the pocket larger to fit the new device.  The old device stuck out at the top and side after a lead revision 7 years ago, (a different EP at the time) so he buried it deeper.  I also had a lead that was close to my armpit and you could see and feel it....so he moved it and buried that deeper.  I was awake the whole time and we talked throughout the surgery....a first for me.  He did have a tug of war with a stubborn part and the ruby red hues are a reminder.  I know the swelling still has to go down but as of now when I move my left arm in a few directions, ouch!

I have to say, I'm really tired after this one....I even wake up yawning!

Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers.  It's late now...I'll respond to the private messages tomorrow....thanks guys.

Bossy, I could use a sundae right about now.

Hang in there, Grateful Heart. I’m week 3 and i still wake up yawning! And i nap every afternoon, which i haven’t done since i was in diapers! I hope you’ll be pain free soon - a perfect time to catch up on your reading or movie watching, if it’s something up your street. Much love from me, E.

...hear from you.  was starting to get concerned!

Sopunds like quite an adventure.  Did he have to climb up on the table & put his feet on either side of the device to pull harder? Sounded like fun!

Sundae

Aw,  wish I lived closer, I would hand deliver a sundae, some chocolate, and wine. Glad you have that surgery behind you now and sending prayers and hugs for a very quick recovery. Your Dr can prescribe something stronger than Tylenol for pain, let her/him know you are in pain.

Get well soon!.

You have sure been through a lot.  Extra strength Tylenol didn't do much for me either with my ICD implant.  I know you are very uncomfortable now and have also prayed for your recovery.

You guys are the best

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.  I'm feeling much better now, still hugging ice but removing the tape helped a lot.  The itching has started so the healing has begun.

Keeping an eye on the incision now.

Thanks Celeste...it gets better.

You're right Tracey, this should be more comfortable when it's healed.

Elise:  I know what you mean....I'm not a napper either unless I'm really sick with the flu.

Don:  He kept his feet off the table but the jackhammer was nearby.  I think I saw him reach for it a couple of times.

Bossy:  A sundae, chocolate and wine....just what the doctor ordered.  lol

Jimmy:  Definitely recovering and keeping a sense of humor, thank you for the prayers...we can never have enough.

All the private message wishes are very appreciated too!

Thanks all!
