Belts and Braces

I have to make a major change in my life because of my titanium-terror!
My old Dad never wore a belt, always braces to hold up his trousers. (Our pals across the pond wouldn't understand this!) I am the same, I always hated belts, often hitching up the trousers as they gradually slide down, so except for trying belts for a short time it's been braces for me too.
The day has come, I have ordered a new leather belt that will get to me on Saturday.
For some time, I have been finding that braces are irritating my pm pocket, I think it's where the two wires come out the unit. Tonight it is a little sore and looks angry. So I am giving in and casting aside my varied collection of braces. O how we suffer!
But I am alive!

The pm site looks normal this morning, a night's rest has done the trick. I now realise that wearing a shirt over the braces was probably the cause of the irritation. Being nice hot days, I was wearing the shirt over the top. Lesson learned, but will persist with a belt as a wise change to avoid such things.
I noticed that I subconsciously hold car safety belts with one hand away from the pm site too. I no longer drive, not wanting to flop out at the wheel and be a danger to others.

Just give yourself time to heal. You seem to be doing all the right things from your profile.
How are the kitties?? I have one named Cecil and a Cavalier Spaniel named Solo. As in Hans Solo....he is a rescue so came with that name. Apparently very Star Wars. lol
The belt will give you sartorial choices, very nice! Isnt it more usual to wear the shirt under the braces? I really have no idea. lol
Best Wishes,

I wear a belt not braces. But the car seat belt has always been a problem, I now have a big puffy fake lambs wool thing...Anyway, if this is your first device and you are still within months of getting it, just give it time for the site to heal and for you to get used to it.
As you read around the site you will see that women have similar issues with bra straps, and my guess is that most if not all of them sorted it out. Not worried that you wont figure something out as well...
Cats

Hi Bionic Beat. I have mother and daughter rescue cats, Bell and Tabby, the names they had before they took me on. Ages 7 and 5 years.
After my wife died four years ago, my family suggested I should get another dog, we had two in the past. I said I couldn't be sure how mobile I would be, getting older, and whether I would be able to exercise them as they deserved. So daughter and grandaughter took me to the Cats Protection League not far from home.
We looked at their resident puddies and I said I must have these particular two. We went shopping for all the stuff needed to care for them and two days later they were here, exploring their new home. And so it's been since.
A friend sent me a card: "A home without a cat is just a house."... and so it is.
You know you're wired when...

You and Ian have a lot in common!
Don’t throw away those braces too quickly. You’re new to all this and in time, you’ll probably be able to wear them again without irritation.
But a belt will probably make you look younger . . .
