Occasional cough

Have had my PM 2 years for pauses that had me on verge of syncope.   Doing well and have had several adjustments to address issues with me feeling the pacing.   I pace at  a very low %.   However I have a mild pulsating pain When I pace (at least some of the time) and occsional It makes me have a forced cough occasionally.    Does anyone here have this?   I’m thinking I may have to live with this and that its not harmful.   I do have a Dr’s visit coming up in a couple of months and will address it then.   Would appreciate any input.

I've had my pm for 3 months and have occasional ticking at the site, which I hate.  I can't lie on my left side at night.  I also have intervals of pulsing ache in my chest that I consider my pacemaker arguing with my heart about the right thing to do.  My activity level is normal and my hr is always 60 or above. I too am waiting for my appt. to whine to the nurse.  Probably must live with it.

Ask the doc

I'm not a doctor and wouldn't attempt a diagnosis, but you might want to ask if you are having PVCs or PACs, little contractions in either the upper or lower chambers that happen a hair before they are supposed to. Sometimes a feeling like you have to cough accompanies them.

They're very common and considered "normal," but can be uncomfortable or unsettling if you don't know what they are.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
