I had my single chamber pacemaker put in 5/10 due to Sinus Bradycardia. I went for a short walk today and I was fine until I stopped. Then I got very lightheaded and like vertigo feeling. The funny part is when I was walking I felt fine. Only happened whenever I stopped. I go Friday to see my cardiologist for my first check. I am also on Lisinopril 20mg. Does anyone know if I am trying to do to much at first and does this pass? It's like my mind is telling me to go, but my body says otherwise.

Low blood pressure

I can't fully remember the details in my case now, but I remember being told in a hospital briefing before my heart surgery to be careful about standing still when I went out for a gentle stroll once home and recovering. The process of walking helps pump blood from the legs back up to the heart, and when you stop walking that assistance stops, leaving the heart to work harder. Perhaps "rate response" has not yet been turned on for your pacemaker? This recognises your physical activity, by picking up your movements, and increases the number of beats per minute.
So I am pretty certain this will pass, and don't let it stop you from going for a walk - just be sure to sit when you stop!
Rate response?

Does he have a rare responsive PM (maybe I missed something)? Often, in the case of bradycarda, the PM's job is to set the floor rate and allow the natural SA node to take over for higher rates, as normal.
You're spot on with walking vs. standing. I walk about 15mi per day but standing still is really problematic. This may have something to do with rate response, though.

Thank you for your responses. I'm almost thinking it's the blood pressure med's . I felt fuzzy in the head most of the morning today. I took my blood pressure and it has been aroune 106/62. It' s usually around 127/68 with meds. I go Thursday for my first revisit. I'll let you know the outcome.

Went for my 1 week check today. I explained what was happening to me getting dizzy and pulse spiking to 150. He said the Auto Capture was on so he turned it off for now. Said he would rather get my heart regulated first rather than saving the battery. This is all new to me, so I don't really understand what he meant. He also said something was turned to 5 ? So hopefully I will start feeling better. However, I did get a little lightheaded in the store right after. But that could have been because he just adjusted it maybe. Plus I didn't eat breakfast or drink anything and it was close to noon. At least I'm hoping.

Not likely you overdid it with a short walk. Did you check your bp? Sometimes meds need to be adjusted once we have a normal heart rate again. It can't hurt to call, sometimes they need to fine tune our settings. My first trip out, I almost passed out at the mall. Freaked me out, but it was super easy to tweak my settings and it never happened again.
