MRI scan

This is just to thank everyone who posted an answer to my question about MRI scans. I have now had the scan and, even though it was over an hour long, the procedure was OK.  Because I could actually see out of the back of the tunnel I didn't'  feel so claustrophobic. I had one on my back a few years ago and it was done in a portable one - incredibly dark and claustrophobic!  My pacemaker was put in safe mode before and I was rushed back up to have it put back after the scan as they were worried something would go wrong. It goes against all they were trained for having someone with a pacemaker inside the tunnel, apparently!!  Once thankyou all for the answers. This is a great site.

It's good for all of us to hear about successful MRIs.

As you say, it goes against their training, and there is still a lot of resistance to the idea from medical personnel.

MRI is a powerful diagnostic tool that sometimes can make a critical difference. Hearing that it can be done from people who have done it and lived to tell the tale, empowers us all to advocate for ourselves when we need to.
