Hi all :)
I got my first PM almost 3 weeks ago :)
I already have a 7 year old daughter who I had with no pacemaker in.
How did you PM effect your pregnancy/labour (if it did)?
Anyone have any problems getting tattoos? I have a half sleeve started so would like to finish 🙈
And how does alcohol effect everyone? I’m not a big drinker anyway I’m just curious!
Thanks! 😊

I’ve had a pacemaker since I was 10 years old. I have had two kids and the pacemaker didn’t make any complications. Also I have asked my cardiologist and they said tats are fine just not right over. However; don’t disclose this to the tattoo studio because the one I disclosed it to refused to tattoo me without doctors note and the doctor wouldn’t give me one. Liability perhaps? I don’t know.
I’ve had drinks here and there and have had no problems also :)

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
pacing

I was told I could not have kids without a pacer because my heart wouldn't be able to keep up. I had two pregnancies with it. It was a non-event. My ob was a little overreactive at first and talked about high risk ob's and neonatal cardiologists. He had a call with my cardio who told him my problem is fixed, treat me like any other healthy pregnant woman. The only concession was a heart monitor during labor.
You can have a tattoo anywhere except right over the pacer.
Alcohol has no effect on the pacer. The underlying reason why you have it and meds you may make it a bad idea, but just having the pacer does not. My doc even said a glass of red wine a day is good for my heart.
